My photographers eye combined with my art background, in particular my interest in colour and sculpture, have taken me on journeys into unexpected places resulting in the photographs displayed in this section.
The metal series grew from a fascination with the aesthetic qualities of rusting metals, the richness of colour and textures and the sculptural potential of the off-cuts , brought to life by late -day natural light.
The flower and tree section illustrate my respect and appreciation of the natural world, where a flower becomes an abstract series of shapes within shapes, colours luminescant in their intensity and painterly autumn trees, their colours at times surreal form natural frames within the cameras frame.
The docks section displays my regard for the narrative, more formal side of photography, where a moment in time is captured forever, seen in the lone figure of a young women pitted against the vastness of the dockside, or the strange landscape of piles of salt juxtaposed with shadows from rafters above at a deserted salt mill.
